Grades 3 through 7 meet twenty-seven times throughout the school year beginning the Sunday after Labor Day and ending the second Sunday in June. Children and their families attend a brief Shabbat morning service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and classes then meet from 9:30 until Noon. The Kindergarten and First grade classes meet once per month.

Throughout the school year children and their families are encouraged to attend Friday night services once per month, Saturday morning services once per month, and holiday celebrations/parties. Tikkun Olam – making the world better, kinder, and more just is taught through a variety of community/social action based activities.

  • Hebrew Through Prayer

Third Grade – utilizing text books published by Behrman House & Torah Aura

  • Holidays and Observances – using the book My Jewish Year
  • Customs and Traditions and adding to that through the study of Hiddur Mitzvah - developing an appreciation for culture and aesthetics in all we do
  • A more in depth study of G-d and Keduchah – an ability to recognize and honor the holiness in all of creation - using the book I Have Some Questions About G-d
  • Continuing Hebrew with the Primer book of the Hebrew Through Prayer series
  • Beginning to learn about Tzionut – our connection with Israel – using the book
    The Great Israel Scavenger Hunt

Fourth Grade – utilizing books published by Behrman House & Torah Aura

  • Holidays and Observances – using The Book of Jewish Holidays
  • Customs and Traditions
  • Finishing the book I Have Some Questions About G-d
  • Continuing with the Hebrew Through Prayer series
  • Learning about Mentschlikeit – being a good person – using The Kids’ Mensch Handbook
  • Finishing the book The Great Israel Scavenger Hunt

Fifth Grade – utilizing books published by Behrman House & Torah Aura

  • Holidays and Observances taught through teacher-made lessons and experience
  • A more in-depth look at Israel using the book Welcome to Israel
  • Continuing with the Hebrew Through Prayer series
  • A continuing look at Mentschlikeit with the book Jewish Heroes Jewish Values

Sixth Grade/B’Nai Mitzvah

  • Study of the liturgy utilizing the Hebrew Through Prayer Series and the prayer books
  • A more in depth look at what it means to be and how to be a Jewish adult
  • Participation in Saturday morning classes/services
  • Continuing study of Mentschlikeit, Tzionut, Keduchah, and Hiddur Mitzvah
